Commuter Project complete

Baskets, fenders, antique stem and a 16 tooth cog.  I love it!  I have some studded tires coming from Schwalbe soon, so I can fetch groceries this winter and not end up on my ass.  I've always wanted to build up a bike like this despite not being much of a commuter.  My goal is to have this bike be my reason to move closer to Durango....then it'll be the main vehicle!

Deport Turgeon

This is the kickoff address for my "Deport Turgeon" campaign.  The Turgeon I speak of is Matt Turgeon.  On the surface, Turge may seem to be an OK guy.  Quite frankly, he might be....but not for Durango, CO.  I've sensed his Benedict Arnold ways for nearly a year now.

In a recent email exchange, Turge proclaimed the following:

1. The riding in Santa Fe is better than Durango
2. The beer in New Mexico is better than Durango.  He went on to add, "Despite having 4 breweries in Durango the beer is just average."

I ask you fellow Durangoans, help me oust Matt Turgeon.  His lovely wife, Jeni, is welcome to stay.  If you pass Turge on the street, do not debate with him - simply point south.

Takin' her out to pasture...

After she sub'd in admirably during the GDR when her sister went down hard in Montana, this aging mare is being converted to a work horse.

Front and rear baskets en route to go with the new fenders, handlebar light and 16 tooth cog.  Oh, she'll be a hauler!!
